Point of Interest (POI)

The ‘Point of Interest (POI)’ feature allows you to create placements on the map with detailed information. Create your POIs, drag and drop them onto the map, and make them visible to others. Once placed, other users can like and comment on your POIs, promoting interaction and discovery.

Anyone who owns at least one land plot has the ability to create POIs – both on their own land plots as well as on free land plots or land plots owned by other users. POIs can include all types of interesting locations, from well-known landmarks to hidden gems.

Additionally, the POI feature provides opportunities to earn $SPXT rewards:

  1. POI creators earn $SPXT rewards based on the number of likes and views their POIs receive.

  2. Land plot owners hosting popular POIs on their land also earn $SPXT rewards.

  3. Users contributing popular comments to POIs can earn $SPXT rewards as well.

When you click on ‘Point of Interest (POI)’ under the ‘Explore’ menu or the green placements icon on the right, a window with the ‘POI List’ will appear on the left side. This list displays the most popular POIs on the map.

When you click the green circular button with the arrow in the POI list, you will be automatically redirected to the POI placement on the map.

If the POIs are not displayed directly, check your filters in the navigation bar and select the icon for POIs to enable it.

There are two ways to create new Points of Interest (POIs). The first option is to select the desired land plot and then click on the plus symbol under ‘Places & Businesses’ in the menu on the right. A new window will now open on the right side with a form for the new POI placement. Insert the headline for your POI and click on ‘Continue’. A new window will now open with additional input options for your POI placement.

The second option to enter a new POI placement is to click on your account icon in the top right corner and select ‘Manage POIs’. Here you have an overview of all your created POIs and can search for your POIs. Additionally, by clicking on ‘New Point of Interest’, you can create a new POI.

Now you have the option to enter the most relevant and interesting information for your POI in three different tabs.

Under the ‘Maininfo’ tab, you can enter visual assets, a headline and subline, a category, a description, and the address of the POI. Add all the details and click the ‘Save changes’ button at the bottom. If you click the ‘Preview’ button, a preview of your POI will appear. Clicking ‘Next’ will take you to the next tab.

Under the ‘Tags and Network’ tab, you can create and add up to three tags, as well as networks, such as websites or links to social media accounts. Here, you can also specify whether it is a permanent POI or if the placement should be activated time-limited. Optionally, you can also add two call-to-action buttons here.

In the last tab, ‘Contact / Details’, you can enter all relevant contact information, such as name/company, contact email, phone number, website, and address. Optionally, you can also provide the opening hours of your POI if relevant.

Once you have entered all the relevant information, you will see the creation date on the overview page, and that the POI has not been published yet. To publish the POI placement, simply drag and drop it onto the desired land plot. Now you can see both the POI icon on the land plot and the text ‘Published’.

In the overview, you will see the number of views. If you click on the pink map icon of your POI under ‘Manage POI,’ you will be taken directly to the location of your POI.

If you click on the three dots next to it, you can delete or ‘unpublish’ the POI.

This is how the final POIs appear on the map. Under the ‘Places & Businesses’ section, the POI is now visible. If there are multiple POIs on this land plot, you can click on ‘View all’ to see all the POIs listed there. If you want to create another POI placement on the same land plot, click the plus icon next to ‘Places & Businesses’.

All people with a SmartPlaces account can now view your POI placement and comment, like, or dislike in the ‘Comments’ section.

Additionally, anyone can suggest the POI for a content check or report illegal content directly if a post does not comply with our community guidelines. To do this, click on the three dots in the ‘Comments’ section and select the respective action.

Under the extra section ‘Kudos,’ high-quality content can be appreciated. If you enjoyed the content of a POI placement or found it helpful, you can show your appreciation by gifting $SPXT tokens. With the Kudos feature, you can directly support the creator by entering the amount of $SPXT tokens. A share of your donation will also go to the land plot owner, ensuring everyone involved is rewarded. Simply enter the desired amount of $SPXT tokens and click the ‘Send Kudos’ button.

Last but not least: Multiple POI placements can be placed on each land plot.

We are still in the analyzing phase, and there will be a few adjustments in the coming weeks and months. Specifically, there were some questions about the rewards. We’d like to explain them here:

Dashboard:

  • The rewards are already live and are credited directly to your Dashboard under “My Rewards.”

  • Any received kudos can also be viewed under “Received Kudos.”

  • Claiming the rewards will be possible soon; we will provide an update about this shortly.

What roles exist in relation to POIs:

  • Content Creator: The person who creates and publishes the POI.

  • Land Plot Owner: The person who owns the land plot where the POI is published.

  • User: All logged-in users who can like, comment on, and share POIs.

What types of activities exist, and how are they rewarded:

  • Unique View: A logged-in user opens the POI and views its details for the first time, generating a unique view. For this, the content creator and the land plot owner are rewarded.

  • Likes/Dislikes: For likes, the content creator, the land plot owner, and the user who liked/disliked receive rewards.

  • Commenting: Writing comments does not generate rewards. However, if the comment is liked, the content creator, the land plot owner, and the user who wrote the comment receive rewards.

  • Sharing: When POIs are shared, the content creator and the land plot owner receive rewards, when the link is clicked.

  • Click Buttons: If there are buttons on the POI that are clicked, the content creator and the land plot owner receive rewards.

  • Sending Kudos: When kudos are sent for the POI, the content creator and the land plot owner receive kudos. The user who sent the kudos receives rewards.

How are the rewards distributed between the roles:

  • The exact amount of $SPXT in rewards is not disclosed. This may change during the analyzing phase over the next few weeks and months.

  • In most cases, the ratio between the roles of “Content Creator” and “Land Plot Owner” is 2:1. This means the content creator receives double the rewards. Other ratios exist e.g. for kudos where the creator receives way more rewards or for comments where three parties are involved.

  • The multiplier of our Pioneers will apply shortly.
